About HMUN

Hanyang Model United Nations (HMUN) is an annual Model United Nations conference held at Hanyang University, designed for middle and high school students, and collegiates. Organized by the Secretariat, a student-run body, HMUN operates under the guidance and support of the Hanyang University Global Social Innovation Team. The conference aims to provide delegates with opportunities to engage in the rapidly evolving landscape of global politics and technology, and to simulate policy negotiations as representatives of UN member states.

Since its inception in 2021, HMUN has engaged over 700 participants in discussing 54 global and societal issues, serving as a premier forum where passion for a better world converges. We have continuously elevated the conference's professional standard and provided invaluable career exploration opportunities through interactions with distinguished guest speakers, such as former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, IVI Director General Dr. Jerome Kim, former Public Diplomacy Ambassador Sang-Woo Lim, and prominent Hanyang University faculty. In addition, by partnering with over 40 institutions including the Korea Maritime Institute, Korea Human Rights Institute, and Korea Development Strategy, HMUN has expanded its horizon beyond academia to address key challenges surrounding social sustainability.

한양대학교 모의유엔대회(Hanyang Model United Nations, HMUN)는 한양대학교 글로벌사회혁신단의 지원 아래 학생 사무국이 주최하는 한양대학교의 공식 모의유엔대회입니다. 국내·외 중학생, 고등학생, 그리고 대학(원)생을 대상으로 진행되며, 참가자들은 각 국가의 대사단의 역할을 맡아 UN의 회의 절차에 따라 다양한 국제 문제를 논의하고 해결 방안을 모색합니다.

2021년 첫 대회 개최 이래 현재까지 총 700여 명의 참가자들과 함께 우리 사회가 마주한 54개의 의제에 대한 토의를 이어온 HMUN은 더 나은 세계를 향한 열정이 만나는 교류의 장으로서의 역할을 수행해왔습니다. 반기문 전 유엔 사무총장님, 제롬 김 국제백신연구소 사무총장님, 임상우 전 공공외교대사님과 한양대학교 교수진을 비롯한 저명한 연사진과의 교류를 통해 대회의 전문성을 증진하며 깊이 있는 진로 탐색의 기회를 제공함과 동시에, 한국해양수산개발원, 한국인권연구소, 한국개발전략연구소 등 40여 기관과의 파트너십을 통해 학교의 담장을 넘어 사회와 지속 가능성을 향한 고민을 나눠오고 있습니다.
